The Senior Manager role will be a leader within BearingPoint, for clients and become a recognized industry thought leader. The role will be a proven leader of consulting and will grow BearingPoint sectors to respond to current demand and to be a key part of the team driving the manufacturing area by defining the sector focus, the go to market approach, gaining new business and delivering to clients.

This is principally a business and client development role.

Responsibilities required:

  • Gaining and delivering supply chain and related projects
  • Defining the objectives, focus and development activities of the sector(s)
  • Leading business development activities and building executive-level relationships with new and existing clients
  • Taking the lead with major clients for all aspects of our delivery and providing the senior technical lead on projects
  • Being visible in the industry by authoring papers and presenting at events
  • Deliver a revenue stream by building a portfolio of clients leading sales and overall delivery
  • Delivering the recognised quality and value for our clients
  • Developing the sector area growth – strategy, sales, income, return and growth
  • Building the team of experienced consultants for the practice
  • Typical financial targets are – £1m+ of personal annual consulting sales; 25% utilisation; senior part of team for a £3-5m+ sector

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrable experience of developing a practice area within a management consultancy or a strategic industry expert, with a focus on Manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge and experience of business focused end-to-end supply chain and/or operational strategy and design
  • Have developed a team to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions
  • A recognised industry expert in the area of supply chain consulting
  • Demonstrable experience of being recognised as an advisor at Board level
  • Demonstrable operational experience of defining and delivering supply chain advisory projects to recognised ‘blue chip’ companies
  • Ability to shape new offerings, building on to the current BearingPoint services
  • Demonstrate a high-level of understanding of how and where supply chain thinking can create business change and competitive advantage
  • Have the experience and presence to work comfortably with both the Board and the functional delivery teams
  • Be able to negotiate and engender high levels of trust with a client – at the business development stage and during the project
  • Leverage existing relationships and contacts to create business
  • Define and build a team to deliver and grow this business area
  • Build and lead multi-functional teams to deliver for our clients
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how IT and Digital is changing businesses operations today – and could do tomorrow
  • Develops good relationships with senior business leaders based on trust and respect
  • Ideally, a degree from a recognised university and subsequent qualifications / professional recognition in business and/or supply chain
  • Have held a senior (preferably Executive) level role in one or major organisations
  • Have held a senior role (preferably Director/Senior Manager or reporting to this level) within a recognised consulting organisation
  • Have European and (ideally) global exposure with multi-national companies
  • Advantageous to have a second language
