VoIP Software Engineer

Blueface is seeking an innovative and creative Software Engineer with 3+ years’ experience with experience in Telecommunications software to work on some of our critical Unified Communications applications (Freeswitch, Call Control, WebRTC, device provisioning, ...) written in Python.


Reporting directly to the CTO, you will join the global, multi-functional Blueface Technology Team and will be instrumental in the full software development life-cycle. This includes, but is not limited to, requirement gathering, design and development through to deployment and post-release.


We are looking for a candidate who is willing to grow alongside our innovative, high-growth company. The role will have scope to evolve based on the candidate’s desire to learn and become involved in other technical fields.



The Role

  • Develop and Test Python Software for high-availability Telecommunications systems
  • Develop and test algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Design and build complex data to support new business initiatives.
  • Employ the latest techniques such as Agile Software Development.



Required Skills & Competencies

  • B.S. in Telecommunications Engineering or Computer Science / Software Engineering
  • Experience with VoIP or other Telecommunication related Software
  • Python proficiency is essential
  • Fluent verbal and written English
  • 3+ years Professional Development Experience
  • Exceptional Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Proven Experience Developing for LINUX
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced development schedule



Beneficial Skills and Competencies 

  • Freeswitch experience/knowledge
  • SIP experience/knowledge
  • Git
  • Experience with RabbitMQ or another AMQP broker
  • Modern relational database systems. E.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • Experience using and creating RESTful (JSON & XML)
  • Agile Software Development
