Position Summary: This person is responsible for ensuring that Operations has the Owner Operators required to meet the needs of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Recruitment of Owner Operators, from the initial stages through to implementation with Operations
Works with internal stakeholders to retain Owner Operators. Makes recommendations for retaining and growing the company’s Owner Operators.
Verifies WSIB and insurance coverage and follows up as necessary.
Administers any new Owner Operator programs.
Works with Owner Operators to resolve issues.
Continually strives to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service, and personal and team performance.
Other duties as required.
Working Experience and Skills
3 to 5 years in the transportation industry, recruiting and retaining Owner Operators for a company’s fleet (either for-hire or in-house)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Ability and experience working in a matrix organization. Good knowledge of Owner Operator pay packages.
Knowledge of what it takes for an Owner Operator to run his/her own business. Knowledge of Owner Operator contracts, and contract language. Responsive and service-oriented. Good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
