Position: Class AZ Moving Driver with training opportunities to become Foreman

Location: Thunder Bay, ON

Schedule: Monday to Friday, must be flexible with start times. Must be available up to 7 days per week during Peak season (Summer).

As a Class 1 Driver, you will have the ability to work well with minimal supervision and have a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and safely. You must have a passion for driving safely and defensively on the roads, for yourself and for others. You enjoy working on different jobs and learning new runs. You are not afraid of hard work and you are able to perform well in a fast paced and physically demanding environment.


  • Safely and efficiently, inspect, operate and maintain company and customer issued equipment in accordance with Transport regulations, TSA, company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Document and directly report all safety related equipment defects to Armstrong Van and Storage and when applicable, to the customer’s dispatch.

  • Continuously exercise safe-work-practices when engaged in work related activities (e.g. using material handling equipment, when manual handling cargo, and vehicle backing, etc.).

  • Maintain timely communication with the company Dispatch office to report daily activity, delays, unscheduled breaks, workplace injuries, motor vehicle collisions, and cargo, equipment, and property loss/damages.

  • Accurately complete and submit (at shift or trips end) all documentation required for payroll, customer billing, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, etc.

  • Continuously comply with current Hours of Service and TDG regulations.

  • Inspect cargo prior to acceptance and apply appropriate cargo securement as per NSC Standard 10.

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload furniture and appliances

  • Deliver furniture and appliances to personal residencies and industrial locations by hand with a helper

  • Responsible for representing the Company in a positive, friendly way when dealing with customers and the general public

  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned

  • Possess in continuous good standing, a valid Ontario issued Class AZ license

  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience is an asset

  • Must have a clean drivers abstract

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
