Canada Cartage is the country's largest provider of outsourced fleet solutions, providing dedicated equipment and drivers to both small and large firms is looking for a Fleet Supervisor to join the maintenance team;


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensuring that the truck, trailer and tire maintenance areas are functioning effectively and efficiently through “on the floor” presence throughout the course of the shift.

  • Ensuring that the output of work by team members is done in a timely manner and that everyone is focused on high priority equipment and meeting operational needs

  • Includes ensuring that all maintenance and repairs are done promptly and properly

  • Ensuring preventative maintenance and any other company policies and/or procedures are followed

  • Creating electronic repair orders, assigning technicians jobs daily and creating work schedules for Maintenance staff

  • Maintaining paperwork associated with day to day operations

  • Providing leadership to all aspects of the shop, including providing a motivating environment through the application of team building practices including regular performance reviews, feedback and coaching

  • Daily communication with your team and shop managers.

  • Maintaining a safe work environment, through corrective action and education

  • Maintaining positive cross-functional working relationships

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers and colleagues

  • Must have current Class 310T Mechanics License

  • Previous experience working as a licensed 310T mechanic

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising a shop

  • Must have completed high school; post-secondary education is an asset

  • Transportation experience preferred
