 This profitable top-tier VC funded big data company that has created the largest consumer audience platform on mobile. This platform, built by our client’s technology team, is fast becoming the go-to asset for global marketers seeking to execute data-driven marketing campaigns. Our client’s team solves complex problems such as semantic data compression, statistical modeling of anomalous mobile data, real time analytics and high throughput, low latency transaction systems. They are looking for a Geospatial Data engineer to join them and help build the platform. This is a PERM position located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.


Many key features in our platform depend on consumer location data. The Geospatial Data Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing the algorithms and processes used to ingest, store, and incorporate this data in our platform and products. You will be responsible for the system architecture to extract deeper insights into data, such as patterns, relationships, and situations—helping us make smarter decisions with our data set. Specific responsibilities include:

•  Plan and implement algorithms for transforming and enriching location data in user records

•  Develop strategy for efficiently storing and loading geospatial data

•  Advise team on best practices for working with geospatial data and related algorithms

•  Acquire geospatial data sets and integrate with our data

•  Work with our data science team on problems concerning location, including fraud detection

•  Participate in the entire application lifecycle (defining requirements, designing, coding, debugging and production maintenance)

•  Write clean, performant code to develop functional applications; build reusable code and libraries


•  Domain expertise in at least one industry reliant on geospatial data solutions, such as travel & transportation; map visualization, or location-based digital advertising

•  Applied domain knowledge from theory to practice in geospatial data systems - including data

workflows, data representation, storage & analytics technology, and applications built on top of the above

•  At least 7 years of hands-on experience using and implementing geospatial data software

•  Master's or PhD in statistics, geoscience, or related fields

•  Demonstrated ability to work on open-ended problems

•  Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with an ability to explain complex statistical concepts to people that do not have an extensive background in statistics

•  Collaborative and personable engineer who likes working with a team

Preferred Qualifications

•  Enthusiasm for data analytics and big data toolset (Spark, Hive, Pig, Hadoop)

•  Work well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly

•  Experience with AWS
