Our client is a rapidly growing, multinational startup leveraging autonomous vehicles to make the world greener, safer, and more accessible. They’ve asked us to help them find a Data Engineer to work on critical cloud infrastructure and data pipeline efforts.

THE WORK: The work includes:

  • Building state-of-art data distribution, storage and analysis data pipelines
  • Managing real-time and historical data flows
  • Developing and expanding libraries and APIs for managing and analyzing autonomous vehicle datasets


The chosen consultant will be a part of a highly skilled team, leveraging some of the latest cloud infrastructure and machine learning technologies.


LOCATION: This client is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Built around the University of Michigan, one of the world’s top universities, Ann Arbor is an incredibly vibrant place, filled with great restaurants, high tech startups, and people from around the globe. We have huge festivals every summer, including a month-long summer festival of music and movies and the nation’s largest outdoor art fair. In the autumn and winter the town takes on an air of excitement as we root on the university’s football, basketball, and hockey teams.


But wait, there’s more! Ann Arbor is only 45 minutes from Detroit - America’s renaissance city. If you haven’t been to Detroit lately, you’re missing out. It’s become an incredible place that’s built onto its storied past as the world’s auto home with the addition of high tech, retail, and culture. And just beyond Detroit is Ontario, Canada.


All things considered, Ann Arbor and southeast Michigan are jewels that are starting to get the attention they deserve. You should play a part! 

MODE: This is a permanent role. Visa sponsorship is available for strong candidates. 


REQUIRED: Applicants must have the following: 

  • Experience with Hadoop and Spark
  • Experience with Cloud data storage - AWS preferred
  • Experience with at least one object oriented coding languages - Python or Scala preferred  


DESIRED: In addition, it would be great if you had some experience with: 

  • Streaming technologies such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, etc.   
  • Experience building and managing large-scale data-processing pipelines in a cloud environment
  • Software/web development
