Title: Account Manager

Department: Client Services

Reports to: Senior account team lead

Role Summary:

The Account Manager is responsible for the day to day management of all projects from commencement to completion within the client accounts that they work on. They are a key contact for internal agency teams involved in the project and they build and maintain direct client relationships.


• Responsible for the briefing, management and delivery of all projects within the accounts they work on, ensuring their client’s brief is fully met and delivered to required timelines and budget

• Manages and is responsible for the internal project review and sign off process (with support of the AE), as well as ensuring project status reports are produced and updated at all times

• Creates project management plans, estimates and timelines for senior account lead and client approval

• Drafts detailed project and creative briefs for internal agency departments

• Understands and can articulate creative, artwork and production processes, requirements and timelines to clients

• Has a full understanding of the clients’ brand, therapeutic area and long-term objectives

• On-going management and training of Account Executives working on their accounts

• Manages day to day client communications and requirements as needed

• Anticipates client needs and make appropriate recommendations

• Simultaneously handles multiple projects and client’s needs under pressure and tight deadlines

• Performs administrative tasks necessary to meet client deliverables including meeting minutes, status reports and accurate budget tracking • Manages the financial status of accounts including, budget reconciliation, estimates, billing, re-estimates and production costs

• Initiates and runs internal meetings to discuss client projects and give status updates • Travel and attendance at client meetings, events, conferences etc as required • Identification of potential for growth in existing client business(s) or new business opportunities through client contacts or teams

• Assistance in agency new business pitch organisation/preparation as required

Personality requirements:

• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously under pressure during busy times on accounts, or on projects where delivery deadlines are short

• Must be self-starter, professional, enthusiastic, detail oriented, highly organized, efficient and with excellent oral and written communication skills • Passionate about healthcare, advertising and improving patients lives • A people person able to build solid relationships quickly with clients and agency peers

Qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any science or equivalent discipline essential or in Marketing/Advertising

• Ideally 3 years+ client services experience within an Healthcare Advertising/Healthcare Communications agency, but previous Healthcare Communications experience is necessary

• IT skills and proven experience with Microsoft packages; Word, Excel & PowerPoint • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills • Commercial and financial acumen/awareness
