The Role

We are recruiting a Social Programme Manager to deliver a varied, appealing and profitable social programme to an audience of international students.  The post is based in Dublin, but may require occasional attendance at other sites in region.

 Your main responsibilities will be:

•To take a lead role in the development and delivery of a professional, high quality social programme for international students in line with best practice guidelines and risk assessment procedures

•To maintain customer interest in the programme through researching and incorporating appropriate and engaging activities

•To develop a rapport with students, providing comprehensive information about event listings and promoting ticket sales

•To communicate with students both on a face to face basis and through social media channels to promote the programme

•To actively lead or organise staffing for all events

•To ensure all staff involved in the social programme are appropriately trained

•To research, set up and develop good working partnerships with tour operators and venues in Dublin and in Ireland and constantly review and evaluate the range of offerings and suppliers for quality of service and value for money

•To report on activities, costs (including staff resources), ticket prices, profit margin, student uptake, post activity analysis, marketing/promo activity and student feedback

About You

To be successful in the role, you’ll have the following:

•A University Degree, Customer Service or Event Management qualification

•Experience of working in a customer-facing environment

•Experience of event organisation

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – particularly written and spoken

•Exceptional customer service ethos

•Flexibility, patience and an ability to manage competing demands throughout the day

•Ability to relate to and build rapport with students of all ages, in particular 16-25’s

•Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities

•Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy

•Ability to find and present solutions to achieve customer satisfaction

•Solid IT skills and ability to navigate a student database system

•Ability to demonstrate international and cultural sensitivities

•Availability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis
