The role

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and target-driven Senior International Sales and Recruitment Manager to support new development across MENA and Africa. With a good understanding of student recruitment within the international education sector you will be able to demonstrate experience with and a successful track record from at least one major overseas market. You will have excellent organisational skills and be a self-starter with experience working internationally across diverse markets, cultures and economies. You will be responsible for achieving personal student recruitment targets, both market-specific and partner-specific, from MENA and Africa. All KI employee are also expected to make a significant contribution to the success of their own division as well as cooperating with colleagues working across the range of KI business.


Main responsibilities and functions

Amongst other duties, you will be responsible for:


·        Driving student recruitment outcomes to achieve challenging regional targets for KIPA colleges in line with Australian Government and KI compliance requirements

·        Developing and executing the sales and recruitment strategy for the MENA and Africa regions

·        Full responsibility for sales performance and for managing the recruitment budget for the regions

·        Identifying sales opportunities and barriers through discussion with KIPA and KI team members; developing action plans to create and capitalise on recruitment opportunities and overcoming the barriers

·        Driving the highest levels of performance within the team and delivering best-in-sector customer service to all internal and external stakeholders

·        Conducting GTE assessments in cooperation with Australia-based colleagues and informing the continual monitoring and improvement of the GTE process for the relevant regions

·        Converting student opportunities from new leads to deposit paid including responding to all enquiries within 48 hours

·        Assessing the Return on Investment of participating in recruitment fairs and events that take place throughout the region to prioritise and participate in high-value recruitment events and activities

·        Promoting KIPA on an on-going basis to generate new leads in the market by working with established key stakeholders, as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

·        Providing in-region support and market intelligence to the wider KIPA team and our partner universities

·        Identifying, approaching and working closely with sponsorship bodies throughout the region

·        Liaising effectively across the KIPA internal network with partner universities and with key recruitment agents and educational bodies overseas to meet challenging targets

·        Ensuring all stakeholders are given comprehensive training; recruiting students in line with Home Affairs regulations and have full and complete knowledge of all KIPA products

·        Evaluating recruitment and marketing activities in the region and working within budget

·        Liaising with the Marketing department to develop market-specific collateral to support sales and recruitment in MENA & Africa

·        Providing support on market-based projects as specified by the Director, Student Recruitment

·        Other projects and tasks as set by Senior Management Team in line with Marketing and Recruitment priorities

The post involves international travel of between to 15-20 weeks per year throughout the region and includes exhibitions, open days, seminars and meetings with sponsors. The successful candidate (ideally) will have experience of travelling in MENA and Africa and will be confident and able to travel independently throughout the region soon after appointment to the role.

Candidate profile


·        Experience of international sales or marketing

·        University-level education

·        Experience of travel in MENA & Africa

·        Results-orientated, ambitious and highly motivated

·        Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, who can engage confidently with a wide range of audiences and levels of organisational seniority

·        Strong grasp of marketing resources and how they can be used for different audiences

·        Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities within inflexible deadlines

·        Excellent organisational, planning and interpersonal skills

·        Ability to work under pressure and in short timeframes, and to meet challenging targets

·        Attention to detail and experience with the Australian Government regulatory and compliance legislation framework

·        Willing to travel overseas independently and to work irregular hours as required


·        Fluency in a relevant second language (fluency in Arabic preferable)

·        Demonstrated track record of working with government and organisational sponsors of university students studying internationally, especially in Australia

·        Experience of international education agent relationship management

·        Understanding of Australian and International Higher Education
