Job Description

Work with the customer service team to answer university placement and group inquiries. In addition to English courses, Kaplan International offers counseling to International English language students who wish to attend college or university and provides assistance to them with their applications. The job also involves corresponding with universities regarding the status of the student's application, liaising quickly and efficiently with our KI sales team and partner agents, and promotion of the overall program within the schools. Additionally the role will involve working with our Groups Director on quoting, booking, and setting up arrangements for student groups for our schools across the USA and Canada.

Key job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assist with group bookings and quotes
  • Give presentations on the program at schools/ to KI sales staff and agent partners when necessary
  • Ensure that KI sales staff and agent partners are regularly updated on the program. 
  • Familiarize with the application process and admission requirements for partners 
  • Keep a current library of applications and promotional materials for partners 
  • Update the online UPS search function 
  • Maintain the UPS database (updates of entry requirements, acceptance of KI English levels, school contact information, contracted terms, etc.) 
  • Promote KI partner schools when appropriate; be familiar with the profiles of the schools and be able to point out the benefits of working with partner schools (e.g. conditional admission) 
  • Ensure that school UPS staff assists students with completing the university application process in a timely manner 
  • Handle correspondence with colleges and agents that pertain to the student's applications with a high level of responsiveness and demonstrating strong customer service skills. 
  • Familiarize with the registration procedures, deadlines and uses of SAT, TOEFL, GMAT and GRE tests and assist students with the registration for these tests 
  • Maintain student files and records
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent*
  • 2+ years’ experience in a business or operational setting
  • Effective customer service skills coupled with strong oral and written communication
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines promptly
  • Excellent organization skills with ability to follow-through
  • Creative and proactive problem solving abilities to solve routine and non-routine conflicts
  • Ability and comfort in making important decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking, diverse environment
  • Ability to apply knowledge of policies and practices to daily operations
  • Ability and willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment and with non-native English speakers
  • Willingness and ability to learn principles of immigration law
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional deportment in working with sensitive student situations
  • Proficiency with computer software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with data management systems
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
