An excellent opportunity for a experienced Warranty professional either working at a senior or manager level within the automotive industry to join Kia Motors (UK) Ltd at exciting time of our growth. The salary for this role is circa £45,000 per annum dependant on level of experience with some great benefits.

Overall Purpose of job

  • Manage the UK warranty operation for our industry leading 7 year warranty covering over 525,000 cars

  • Manage a multi-million pound budget/operation with thorough processes and control to ensure cost per unit targets are met whilst maintaining high levels of customer and dealer satisfaction

  • Ensure the UK warranty operation operates within manufacturer’s policy and procedures

  • Effectively manage a team of Warranty Advisors to ensure service levels are delivered

  • Ensure warranty Prior Work Authorisations (PWA) and claims are processed in accordance with Kia Motors warranty policy and in a timely, accurate manner

  • Ensure Warranty enquiries from dealers are answered within company’s service levels

  • Analyse warranty claims and identify trends together with potential solutions.


Key Responsibilities

The following is a non exhaustive list of responsibilities for the role:

  • Liaise with Kia Motors Corporation (KMC)/ Kia Motors Slovakia (KMS)/ Kia Motors Europe (KME) warranty personnel to ensure full compliance with KMC/KMS/KME Warranty Policy and Procedures
  • Must have a full working knowledge of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd (KMUK) and KMC warranty claim processing systems and procedures
  • Manage the processing of dealer warranty claims and authorisation requests
  • Provide advice and guidance to dealers and KMUK staff on warranty related matters
  • Support Warranty department in all operational duties where required
  • Must have a full knowledge of all models in the current Kia model range
  • Manage the submission of claims to KMC/KMS/KME and process results
  • Update and maintain dealer warranty records held on all KMUK IT systems
  • Manage, operate and monitor the warranty parts return system
  • Contact with a national dealer network of approximately 195+ Kia dealers and Authorised Repairers in the UK
  • Ensure Warranty training and seminars operate as required
  • Manage the process of manual credits and debits to dealers and submit invoices to recover costs from internal departments, when required
  • Take all necessary actions to ensure that the KMUK warranty system reflects the needs of the KMC system
  • Liaise with accessory and OE part suppliers to ensure systems are in place for the recovery of warranty claims paid to dealers including invoicing and recording of credits
  • Manage the production of management data and financial reports to meet the requirements of the company
  • Manage all KMC/KMS/KME instructed product safety recall programmes, through Kia’s selected agency, to ensure totally customer safety is achieved at all times
  • Manage the KMUK Warranty Audit programme including supporting Kia’s Regional Business Management team and relevant outsourced agencies
  • Submit monthly reports to KME and complete surveys as requested by the factories
  • Manage the Warranty Labour Programme with KMC and KME to ensure dealer warranty labour rates are regularly reviewed in line with company policy
  • Produce and publish Dealer Warranty Bulletins and other literature as required.


Person Specification:

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint

  • Experience of warranty systems and policies

  • Team leadership experience

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills

  • Experience of an automotive industry, ideally in the retail service environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Full current UK driving licence and passport.
