Overall Purpose of job

To provide support to Kia Motors (UK) Ltd (KMUK) management team, the Planning & Programmes team and other departments in the areas of sales and production by: handling production processes, producing important management reports, preparing presentations for management meetings, carrying out analysis to be used for management decisions, and liaising with other departments to keep them updated on key issues.

The Planning & Programmes team is responsible for sales and production related reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

The following is a non exhaustive list of responsibilities for the role:

  • Responsible for the production planning at the highest level of detail
  • Handling of production processes required to communicate our production needs to Kia Motors Europe (KME). This involves the prioritisation of work orders based on customer backorders and sales and stock assumptions
  • Work alongside KMUK Fleet team to guarantee the timely coverage of daily rental vehicles
  • Provision of daily, weekly and monthly management reporting
  • Preparation of materials for various regular management and interdepartmental production and sales meetings
  • Facilitate the input of the monthly production order into SAP and guarantee the information is correctly submitted into KDCS
  • Maintaining a tracker of the status of production-related issues and follow-up actions and liaising with colleagues to obtain updates
  • To carry out analysis pertaining to production, stock, Kia sales and market sales performance as defined by the needs of the business
  • To develop methods aimed to facilitate the easy updating of data in order to use the most up to date information while ensuring its accuracy and integrity
  • To undertake additional projects to support the objectives of the department, such as determining the ideal stock level
  • Provide full support to the production process and the Production Manager by understanding the production cycle and key items of the process

Person Specification

  • Graduate calibre desired, preferably in a business related subject
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong background in statistical analysis and mathematics
  • Motivated, self-reliant and self-confident
  • Able to deliver against deadlines under pressure
  • Must be well organised and have the ability to prioritise
