Warehouse Operator Role Description


JOB TITLE:             Warehouse Operator


REPORTS TO:        Warehouse Supervisor




  • Operate ‘counterbalance’ and forklifts in addition to the electric pallet truck in line with safety requirements.
  • Receiving, inspecting and locating of raw materials, tools, gauges and equipment in line with documented procedures.  
  • Completion, filing and maintenance of all related documentation.
  • Assist with the control and issue of raw materials to production in line with requirements ensuring that all stock is used on ‘First in First out’ (FIFO) basis.
  • Assist with the preparation and identification of finished goods for shipment in line with customer requirements. Prepare delivery documentation (packing list, pallet labels etc), and load shipments.
  • Assist with cycle count raw materials and finished goods inventory as required.
  • Maintain warehouse ensuring that it is kept clean and tidy at all times, including operation of scrubber/dryer machine, maintenance of the skip and loading bays
  • Assist with the management of scrap generated by production, ensuring that it is clearly identified as scrap or located in red bins. Regrind as necessary ensuring that each unit containing regrind is clearly identified.
  • Work closely with material handlers and other key production personnel
  • Update warehouse inventory on ERP reporting system

·        Have previous warehousing experience, a valid forklift license, manual handling and first aid experience, and the ability to operator power tools, hand tools and machinery.

·        Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Have strong information management and analytical skills

  • Be a team player and capable of working independently and on own initiative

·        Have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·        Be proficient in MS Office and standard inventory management systems
