The NinjaRMM Red Team Security Engineer role is pivotal to the Ninja team. It has company-wide visibility and includes deliverables stretching across individual developers to executive leadership. As part of our core information technology team, you will directly contribute to the user experience of our 4000+ customers across the Managed-Service-Provider space and in enterprise/corporate IT shops. You will help own and solve challenges that include: finding security vulnerabilities in our environment and applications; applying a multi-layered approach to data privacy and information security; and engraining cybersecurity into the Ninja culture. You will also serve as a leader and mentor, as there are other team members who are junior in these areas of expertise—as well as in their careers.

·      Identify and perform well-controlled security vulnerability exploitation and penetration testing of Ninja’s cloud environment, network infrastructure, databases, and applications

·      Perform network reconnaissance and security reviews of Ninja’s tools and services

·      Review and audit source code for security vulnerabilities

·      Investigate, perform forensics, and remediate security events

·      Review and harden systems and services

·      Implement new security methods or tools to add on to a layered defense

·      Develop comprehensive and accurate reports and presentations for both technical and executive audiences (may be internal to Ninja, or external such as prospects/clients or media)

·      Review the latest news or findings in the regulatory compliance and cybersecurity spaces—how does this impact Ninja immediately, and what effects could it have for Ninja in the future?

·      Meet with prospects and clients to help explain how Ninja protects their data and privacy—which may include high-level explanations of current security implementations

·      Provide leadership and guidance to other team members

·      Provide data and information to help guide executive leadership

·      Provide feedback on the product roadmap and help to shape it

·      Provide input on company-wide strategies


Skills & Qualifications

·      Proficiency with scripting (shell, PowerShell, PERL, Java, Python)

·      Expertise with penetration testing or offensive security testing

·      Expertise with Linux and Windows operating systems

·      Strong knowledge of TCP/IP & UDP protocols and networking design/architecture

·      Proficiency with security tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Cobalt Strike, Empire, and Kali Linux

·      Strong knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of network defense technologies, such as ACLs, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and web content filtering

·      Experience with wireless exploitation techniques and tools

·      Expertise with application-based penetration testing

·      Experience with multi-vector penetration testing using exploitation frameworks

·      Experience with reverse engineering or exploit development


Education & Experience

·      BS in a technology discipline (or equivalent)

·      5+ years of experience with networking and application security
