Overview


An exciting opportunity to work for a world leader in connected trains. The role of a Software Engineer is to contribute to the development of the connected train management system. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a collaborative, multi-national R&D team, renowned for continuous innovation of technology & provision of quality solutions.


Job Responsibilities


  • Participate to the development the next generation management system for the connected trains
  • Develop both frontend and backend features
  • Provide high performance solution (database access, processing & display)
  • Use relevant numerical algorithm for data processing
  • Develop efficient and productive user interface
  • Work in close coordination with the other team members (in two sites, Belgium and England)
  • Closely interact with the internal customers to develop the features that best fit with their workflow processs
  • Work in an Agile environment (bi-weekly scrum meetings, JIRA ticket-based activity,..)


Qualifications & Experience Required


  • Java/Spring/Hibernate/ActiveMQ
  • MySQL/MariaDB
  • NoSQL (Mongo)
  • NodeJS
  • Javascript (AngularJS 1.6)
  • HTML/CSS
  • Version Control Systems (git)
  • Linux
  • IP knowledge = nice to have
  • Zabbix = nice to have
  • Ansible and puppet = nice to have
  • UX design = nice to have
  • English = must, Dutch/French = nice to have
  • Engineering degree where most of the above technologies will have been learned
  • Professional experience and proven track record of achieving similar developments
  • Excellent software development skills (design well-thought and futureproof software architecture and algorithms)
  • Ability to work in a team with multi-sites members
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
  • Customer oriented mindset: co-design with end-users of the product
