Strencom acquired Baker Security and Networks in February 2019. The successful candidate will be part of our Baker Security and Networks division. Strencom’s key asset is our highly trained, skilled and innovative employees who design, deliver and support solutions for our enterprise customers. Our customers are primarily UK & Ireland Headquartered, but many have global sites where we provide managed services.


The Senior Network Security Engineer reports to the CTO and is a full-time position. The successful candidate will join the group engineering team and be based in either our Dundrum Dublin or Blackpool Cork office.


Responsibilities include:

  • Design and deployment of new network security devices regionally and globally
  • Maintaining the stability, availability and system lifecycle of all key security devices in customer locations
  • Respond to incident escalation requirements from security tools and support SOC functions
  • Ensure security by design principles
  • Network solutions design and implementations administration, and monitoring
  • Firewall policy creation
  • Firewall base line security
  • Monitoring and response device health
  • Threat prevention counter measures review
  • Provide proactive fault management and vendor engagement
  • Perimeter Hygiene
  • Document with precision customer solutions



  • Qualified Palo Alto Management to PCNSE
  • Partial Cisco IOS Router Management to CCNP standard
  • Solid background in data networks and routing protocols

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge managing remote users access in particular Palo Alto prisma Access(GPCS) platform
  • Juniper JUNOS
  • Depth of knowledge in Network Security Architecture
  • ITIL v3
  • Qualified or working towards certifications like CISSP or CISA. 



  • Competitive Compensation package of €50,000 to €70,000, dependent on experience
  • 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)
