Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Executive Director of Medical Services is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations and direct management of the staff of the Care Team. The incumbent will work collaboratively with colleagues to support the mission of the organization by delivering high-quality medical care and promoting health and wellness education. In particular, the Executive Director will take the lead in developing a service-delivery model that meets the needs of the student community through a passionate commitment to healthcare within a university environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and management skills in order to facilitate the delivery of efficient, quality care by a team of medical professionals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead clinical medical team including recruiting new doctors, ensuring adequate staffing, managing on call doctors, ensuring coverage in 50 states 24/7/365
  • Provide care to students/patients as a clinician
  • Create scheduling pattern and method for ensuring coverage as the clinician or utilizing other clinicians within coverage budget
  • Helping create medical training material/content
  • Improving, enhancing quality assurance guidelines
  • Monitoring adherence to quality guidelines and physicians adherence to protocols
  • Communicating with physicians regarding QA reviews
  • Communicating with clinic medical faculty on campuses regarding any quality issues, continuity of care for patients with clinic, follow up on critical or urgent student issues
  • Participating in sales calls with potential new clients and their clinical staffs as needed
  • Data evaluation on performance of network such as wait times, licensing adherence
  • Managing NP's as supervising physician
  • Obtaining and maintaining licenses through TimelyMD in all 50 states
  • Maintaining appropriate documentation for supervising agreements with NP’s based on state requirements in states which require supervision
  • Assist as manager of Professional Associations as needed as a physician licensed in states where individual practice entities are required
  • Participate with media team for Q&A's, interviews, media pitches, etc. as needed
  • Assist with tech team in creating care protocols for asynchronous visits, improving provider and patient experience, troubleshooting any workflow issues or provider issues with new tech


Job Requirements:

  • Board Certified MD or DO with 10+ years in a clinical setting with at least 3 years in progressive leadership of a multidisciplinary team 
  • Licensure in more than one state preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability, or potential, to excel in smaller entrepreneurial organizations
  • Extensive experience in clinical leadership roles, leading and coaching physicians to be the best they can be for their patients and their colleagues
  • Ability to remain calm in the midst of the storm, guiding others to smart, effective solutions
  • Interest and experience in administrative leadership in a medical setting, including development of policies and procedures designed to assure optimal quality and efficiency, arrive at evidence-based clinical and business processes and hold the team accountable for performance using objective data, maintenance of relationships
