PURPOSE

                        

A Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating a business to establish the workings of the company systems, procedures and operations. A BA is involved in analyzing the structure of the business, the processes and determining areas in which technology or alternative solutions can add value. Business analysts will work together with system analysts, who also act as link between business challenges and technology solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES


INITIAL INFORMATION GATHERING, ANALYSIS & PROJECT INITIATION

  • Elicit, analyses and work with business partner high-level requirements and discern the appropriate level of details to capture business needs
  • Conduct analysis, perform evaluation, create design and modification testing and implementation of enterprise wide systems across different functional areas
  • Quickly understand business flow issues and data challenges of business requirements
  •  Analyze business requirements and develop detailed functional requirements, clearly stating project scope
  • Elaborate business requirements into functional specifications which the development team can use to create product features.
  • Act as liaison between business team (e.g. Product Owner, Operations) and project team (Developers and Testers) in all areas of support and enhancements
  • Interact daily with Product Owners and Project Managers to understand business processes and key requirements while proactively working to resolve client issues
  •  Define or participate in driving product roadmaps and determining requirements for each release.
  • Gather and organize current and future business requirements, specifications, processes and recommendations to proposed solutions
  • Facilitate and/or create concise, clear and complete functional specifications (e.g. user stories) and requirements documents
  • Conduct business process analysis, information analysis and capture results by using appropriate visual and textual models using techniques in enterprise analysis (e.g. diagramming, User Stories, UML, etc.)
  • Understand customer requirements (internal & external) as they impact across the full technology stack (app/platform/OS) to inform platform strategy and ensure platform requirements are fit for purpose.

 

PROJECT EXECUTION

  • Lead improvement initiatives from concept, elicitation to design to implementation of the processes then validate the benefits realized by the initiative
  • Communicate platform strategy and roadmap internally to key stakeholders and externally to prospects and customers
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs
  • With strong development support etiquette
  •  Assist Project Manager to gain consensus from key stakeholders for the vision of the product.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Computer Science or other business and technology related discipline
  • Minimum five (5) year experience in a business analyst or product management role for software products
  • Familiarity and understanding of systems engineering concepts (i.e. SDLC and agile methodology)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in coordinating with various business groups is an advantage
  • Preferably with experience as Assistant Manager/ Team Leader specialized in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent
